What Is GreenPitch Magazine?
GreenPitch is an online
soccer magazine for soccer players, coaches, and enthusiasts
in the U.S. and Canada.
Published since mid-2003, GreenPitch aims to fill the gap
in the great demand for soccer
news and information focused, not on international soccer,
but on the local Soccer Scene.
Why GreenPitch?
In keeping with our unique editorial
and commentary we created a name that highlights our mission.
While the Pitch (common term for soccer field) is typically
Green, the color is also synonymous with 'freshness',
'youth' and 'optimism'. That is how we view our approach to
soccer in the metropolitan areas across North America.
Why read GreenPitch?
GreenPitch Magazine offers content
not found anywhere else. It's your game and we write to improve
it. We provide our readers with the latest training tips,
coaching advice, travel guides, and a wide variety of articles
and features to keep you entertained, informed and a step
ahead of the competition.
The
Publisher
A former college soccer standout with professional experience
as a writer, editor, and marketer, Jonathan Castner founded
GreenPitch Magazine in 2003 in order to provide coverage of
local soccer leagues in the New York Metropolitan area. Soon
GreenPitch included a wide variety of content for players,
coaches, and fans throughout the Northeast.
Readership subsequently expanded from several hundred local
Sunday league players to over 20,000 enthusiasts across the
country. In 2007, Castner launched a new website to deliver
the latest daily soccer news. He can be reached at [jcastner
